Scott Parker commits future to Fulham amid Tottenham Hotspur links

Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Football.london), Fulham manager Scott Parker has claimed that he intends to continue at the club amid links with Tottenham Hotspur.

Parker has been in charge at Fulham since late in the 2018/19 campaign, when the Cottagers were relegated. Having led them back to the Premier League in his first full season in charge of the club, the 40-year-old has forged a solid team at Craven Cottage.

However, Fulham could not avoid another relegation from the Premier League with their fate being confirmed after the loss to Burnley.

Even though his side will now go down to the Championship, Parker has garnered admirers at Tottenham, with the club looking at him as a potential managerial candidate. The former Spurs midfielder, though, has made it clear that he would like to stay at Fulham and lead another charge for promotion come next season. (h/t Football.london)

“I’ve been committed since I came here, that’s always been the case. I’ll be the first to put my point across, along with all the others to get this club back in the league and stay there. That’s my main aim, I don’t want to come into this league for a season and then be relegated, I want to come into this league and stay in this league and move this club forward.”

Parker has done some good work at Craven Cottage with Fulham impressing in spurts over the course of the current season. However, he is still in his first job and may not have the experience needed to deal with a rebuild job that will entail him at Tottenham. Plus, it seems like he still has unfinished business with our London rivals as well.
